Someone asked me this, and here's the answer.

One of two, which again leads to one of three, leaving one of two:

Either - if you are weak, and have lived your life without victories and strength - you vaporize; the last remnants of your soul is, literally, digested by flies, worms and the void.

However; are you strong, are you hard, in your soul, you will have the strength to leave your physical harness and will be presented with one of three options:

1. Hell. - The Rule of Life is:

"You are free to do with your life, exactly, as you want, as long as you don't intervene, negatively, with another human being's equal right."

You are a child of God, and He loves you, like there was only you, but; so is everyone else. - You harm your brothers and sisters on this planet, cause pain, willfully, then - if you have not repented, and sought the forgiveness of Christ (Who EXISTS to negate and annul your "bad karma") - you will be cast down.

This is rare though; most people/souls pass on, and most are forgiven for their minor trespasses; Life could not exist if we all were doomed on our mistakes, but Hell IS real, and if your soul is - through the choices of your free will - coded to evil to a point, where you can no longer see WHY you should be good (AKA; listen to your morals and respect your neighbor) then, yes, chances are, that you end up in Hell.

2. The Sea of souls: A firm argument AGAINST theism is, that "Where do all the souls come from..? Have they been around for ever..?", but that's actually the answer. - Beyond our realm, in the next world, there's an ocean - deep and tranquil - Angels sing there, in tunes so pretty, that no instrument or voice on earth could duplicate them. Peaceful, like no other place, either here, in the universe or in the realm of the dead. A place of true beauty. It is The Sea of Souls.

In this ocean - where all animal and human souls derive from - it rains downside up. - When an animal, is needed in the world, an amount of "soul-waters" is lifted from the ocean, shaped into it's soul, and born, during the moment of conception/insemination, to the body, it will live its life as. - Some animals are strong in their lives, and in their DESIRE for life, and, as such, is reincarnated again - through the process described in this text - to even bigger animals; until, finally, becoming humans (or equally intelligent life on other planets). - There is, in brackets, a theory, which claims, that children with "Down's" are, in fact, the first reincarnation as humans, once a soul leaves the path of being part of the animal kingdom.

Getting to the point; ALL life, spiritually, comes from the Sea of Souls, and most animals goes back to this place, post mortem, to be dissolved, and become one with the ocean yet again, only to be "recycled" later, as parts of new ones. But only as parts; the animal/human, entering this place, will feel overwhelming peace, calm, and utter tranquility, but it'll mean their final end; the soul, ending up there, is not gone, but it's individuality - as they are totally disolved - is a thing of the past.

3. However; are you Strong, AND Good, there's Heaven; The place hinterworld, where the strong, willful and Good souls reunite, to be part of the beautiful world and realm of God. - This place, is absolute perfection; joy and wisdom is written in every breath there. - As Dante Alighieri phrased it in his "The Divine Comedy"; "Blessed are those, who is let into His city..".

Heaven - in the common tongue - is a myth, but the moment, you - even for a second - embrace the concept of your soul, then the whole paradigme, written here, shows up, and it is - and you can trust me on this - real.

However, this is what I know, but there's more to it than this, I'm sure; I know, that we all - in the room between deaths and rebirths - have our memories cleared (this is because, when all is said and done; life is a GIFT, and we're here to; relish in it, live it, love it and experience JOY where ever and how much we can, and in this; remembering past lives wouldn't benefit us in the slightest.), but a lot of souls passes though every day, and, as such, there's gotta be more "Rooms of the dead". - More to "The Machinery", if you ask me, but those things have not been disclosed to me; I have only seen the above places.

In short; unless you're an @$$hole, then there's nothing to worry about; your body is something, YOU WEAR, and once done with it, you change shape, loose your memory and take and make another go; you are, in fact, eternal and immortal (So don't worry too much, but do with life as the point and meaning of it is: live it. :)

Lastly, just in case; There IS a God, and one of the core rules of this UNIQUE gift of life, that you have been given (" out of an INFINITE amount of beings; YOU became human") is, that it bodes for a massive responsibility, and an adherence to "The Codec":

"You have been given LIFE, Human, but you dare to throw it away, when so many could have had it before you, then you shan't have it."

Basically; suicide is the WORST of sins! - And if you don't have an.. INCREDIBLY good reason to do so, chances are, that your buns will be thrown straight to Hell. - We are not ALLOWED to throw the Gift of Life back into the face of God; and He will act on it if you do, that is my estimate and belief. We are here to learn, the whole way even through pain.

Hell is a bad place, btw - I ended up there during a meditation about ten years ago, and I've been actively seeking Christ since. - I found Him, and He saved me ( "what is the greatest thing, Simon..? - Your anger, or that I put my hand your shoulder, and say; You're forgiven?" - Jesus, 3-4 years ago.) but Hell.. - I want to say to you, friend; be good, ok..? Hell is the worst of the worst; the worst place in the world to be, and it never stops. - Time doesn't exist in the world hinter, and it's only void, pain and emptiness, so.. If nothing else, if you are suicidal, then stay clear of this choice out of pure and outright fear, ok..? - What ever you are going through, for what ever reason, if any; pray, stay strong, and Pray; Jesus is at the end of a prayer, and. He. Loves. ALL. - ALL. Of. Us. Even a dark soul like myself, He had love to help, ok..? So.. Pray; he's the best friend any human can have.

Edit: According to "The Book of the Dead" in the Buddistic faith-system, a soul of a human being consists of 80-150.000 soul-elements.
- Shards, that are basically the same, like atoms, but unique in their mutual composition between them, like molecules, in a human, or any, soul. - Once you live, and re-incarnate, your spiritual composition, through evolution, grows, leaving you stronger over time. - However, these "shards" have vibrations, and the choices and views on and of your experiences of your life, determines these vibrations; "the higher, the lighter. The lower, the darker". - Combined by your choices, and your vibrations, you will either be a good or a bad man, but.. Remember, God is watching, and He knows ALL about you; there's no fooling "The System"; you have free will, but using it for darkness isn't really a choice.

Careful what you choose.
